Work Experience
12th - 23rd May 2025
Work related learning develops students' understanding of businesses, finance, labour markets and employer needs as well as providing opportunity to develop social and personal skills. We plan our curriculum to ensure all Year 10 students have the opportunity to experience this in the Summer Term.
Work-related learning helps students:
- Recognise, develop and apply skills for enterprise and employability
- Develop their understanding of work
- Learn about the way businesses operate
- Develop an awareness of employment opportunities
- Relate their own abilities, attributes and achievements to career intentions
- Understand different work contexts and practices
- Engage with challenges from the business world
- Broaden their aspirations
- Promote equality and opportunity.

Setting up a Work Experience placement
In order to ensure students are successful, we strongly encourage parents to work with their child to set up private placements. To secure this placement the form below needs to be completed by parent and employer and returned to Miss Passmore in the Library.
Below is a video with some helpful hints and tips on how to set up a placement
Where a private placement is not possible, we have a limited number of placements available via our employer database. Students should speak to Miss Passmore, located in the LRC, as soon as possible if they require additional help in finding a placement. Please use our WEX email WEX@trafalgarschool.org.uk if you have any questions.
