Welcome and Introduction

Welcome from the Acting Headteacher

I am incredibly proud to lead Trafalgar School; a community like no other. It is a privilege to be Acting Headteacher, and to work alongside such dedicated staff, talented students, and supportive families.

We are a relational school where everyone belongs and is valued. Our calm and nurturing environment is built on strong relationships between students, staff, and parents, and our five core values of Aspiration, Community, Inclusion, Resilience, and Respect shape every aspect of school life. These values, defined by our students and linked to the UNCRC, underpin the culture we are so proud to be a part of.

We are relentlessly determined for every young person. Our curriculum is ambitious, personalised and inclusive, and our teaching is consistently strong because of our unwavering focus on high‑quality learning: every lesson, every day. Our high expectations, combined with high levels of support, ensure that all students are challenged to achieve their very best.

Students often describe Trafalgar as feeling ‘like a family’ and a place they can be themselves without judgement. Our vertical tutoring system and restorative approach helps us to know our students exceptionally well, which enables us to provide the personalised support they need to flourish. We celebrate their achievements widely, both in and beyond the classroom, and actively value the contributions of every member of our community.

Trafalgar School is a special place, defined by its relationships, its inclusive nature, and its commitment to excellence. As we strive to fulfil our motto, ‘learning today, leading tomorrow’, we remain dedicated to ensuring our young people leave us confident, successful and ready for the wider world.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you and your family over the coming years.
