On Tuesday 30th January, Mr Dudley and a group of our School Council representatives attended the Portsmouth Anti-Bullying Conference 2018. The event was hosted by Rock Clothing and held at The Guildhall. One thousand students from across schools in our city came together to improve the local strategy and their own in-school strategy on bullying; with an influence of speakers across the country, and performers from far and wide, the students were really be able to expand their knowledge at this one off city event.
Trafalgar students, along with students from across the city, joined Rock Clothing and the mission to tackle bullying and improve the social lives of young people in our schools and communities. Rock Clothing has helped support over one thousand students in Portsmouth in the last year by hosting Anti-Bullying workshops in schools, where students get creative and make resources for their peers. It has also provided 1-2-1 counselling sessions, where a trained councillor meets with a number of young people across the city to talk about their issues. Most of all, they are helping to provide a voice to young people and raising the profile of this issue so that young people are aware that there is always help and support available.
Our Council representatives will now feedback to our School Council and work together to ensure that the mission to tackle bullying and provide support for young people is something that Trafalgar School will continue to promote and implement.
