Markets are a great source of exciting ideas, local produce and street food, as well as a place to spend time and socialise with the locals. One of the pleasures of visiting France is to enjoy wandering through a traditional French market. The market, as a source of fresh fruit and vegetables, is an integral part of France’s famed tradition of good eating and is also very much a French tradition. So, what could be better than a French market in Hythe? As the Head of Languages at Trafalgar School, I was given the opportunity to take Year 8 students studying French to this French market to experience this fantastic resource provided by the local council. Thank you to Mrs Hodge, Miss Top, Miss Gorrin, Mr Cleaver and Mr Furnell for accompanying our lovely Year 8s who had an amazing time experiencing the market’s sights and sounds and sampling cultural delicacies.
