Primary School Liaison

Trafalgar School works closely with our local feeder primary schools, and throughout the year we hope to schedule a variety of activities to enable primary schools to visit us throughout the year.

Activities include:

  • Trafalgar School Lessons for years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Students visit Trafalgar School with their teachers and for a lesson are taught by Trafalgar’s teachers.
  • Reading bus – watch out for Trafalgar students dropping in to a school near you to celebrate World Book Day, supporting reading in primary schools.
  • Transition Taster Days – Specific days have been set aside in July where local primary schools are invited to visit Trafalgar School for a full day of lessons. We expect 150-300 year 5 students will visit over these days, and each department will be asked to support these days. Feedback from the 2016 Taster Days was excellent.

December 2017 – Gatcombe Park Year 3 visit Trafalgar

Students got to experience art lessons and science! Students loved their day and Trafalgar staff thoroughly enjoyed teaching them.

Well done Gatcombe, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

February 2018 – Northern Parade Year 3 Visit Trafalgar

All of Year 3 walked down to Trafalgar School to experience music, science, IT and art lessons with our teachers! It was a pleasure seeing such enthusiastic learners and we look forward to welcoming Year 4 soon!

Well done Northern Parade!
