Extra Curricular

At Trafalgar School we offer a broad and diverse range of enrichment opportunities which allow students to develop an exceptional portfolio of skills that they can use throughout their lifetime.

As an integral part of their personal development, we encourage all students to be involved in extra-curricular activities. Whether this involves joining one of our many successful sports teams, designing the latest set robotics for STEM club, writing the next children’s fiction book of the year, or singing and dancing their heart out in a theatre production – there is something for everyone!

Learning beyond the classroom enables children to grow into well-rounded, proactive and independent young adults, therefore our curriculum is committed to personal development days, work experience and activity weeks, which promote a broad range of experiences. These include overseas excursions to Europe and Africa, museum visits across the country, Dragon’s Den challenges with local entrepreneurs, the nationally recognised Duke of Edinburg award, and many more things that allow students to thrive.

Termly House competitions are hosted by each department in the school, giving students the opportunity to engage is some friendly competitions and earn precious points for their House.

Our Physical Educational department run a wide variety of clubs and are very popular with students of all ages – the trampolining club is especially well attended. We host our annual Sports’ Day at the Mountbatten Centre and invite parents and family members along to watch the events and excitement unfold. In addition to this, students can excel as young Sports’ Leaders and participate in promoting healthy lifestyles and sports in primary schools within the community.

We are proud to hold the Silver Artsmark Award status, recognising our commitment to the performing arts and all that is on offer to students here. We regularly stage our own productions throughout the year and perform at Rock Challenge and Soundsational. The vibrant artwork that can be seen around the school has been produced by our own young people and the newly refurbished dance studio is a popular venue for all of the budding performers at Trafalgar.
