Today we were lucky to host some special visitors at Trafalgar School, all the way from The Gambia. Matida Bojang and Annafatou Mendy are Gambian teachers and are visiting England as part of a project with both Trafalgar School and Admiral Lord Nelson School. They are here to visit our two schools, observe our teaching styles and techniques, explore our educational system and of course start to forge those formal links we are looking forward to establishing. Matida and Annafatou have stated that they have already enjoyed working with and conversing with staff and students regarding their academic experiences, as well as their cultural differences.
Students from Admiral Lord Nelson School and Trafalgar School have signed up to visit The Gambia during the Easter holidays next year and will have an amazing life-changing experience. They will have the opportunity to see the real Gambia, from wildlife, to culture and lifestyle. They will of course have an opportunity to work with students in a school, cementing our now growing formal links, as well as carry out community work.
Some of our students attending the trip to The Gambia next year were very pleased to meet our visitors and are looking forward to the opportunities the trip will provide for them. They enjoyed showing Matida and Annafatou around our school and we all hope that they enjoy the rest of their stay until they depart for the journey home next week.
